Evaluation & Fitting

Contact lenses are a wonderful option for vision correction for many patients, including those with myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness), astigmatism, and presbyopia. Because they sit on your eyes, having contacts that properly fit the size and shape of your cornea is important to your ability to see well and to your eye health overall.

Our eye doctors have undergone extensive training so they can prescribe and fit a variety of contacts properly. They take additional measurements of the front surface of your eye during your eye exam to make sure the lens fits properly to protect eye health.

Purchasing Contact Lenses

We carry a wide variety of contact lenses in our office and value the opportunity to fill your contact lens prescription. There are other options available to you as well. For your safety, we strongly recommend obtaining contact lenses only from reputable companies.

If you are having difficulties with contacts you ordered online or purchased from another source, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with us. As our patient, your eye health is our top concern.

Contact Lens Safety

Contacts are a popular option for many of our patients, and can make daily activities easier. They are also safe for most people, provided they are worn as prescribed. Wearing lenses longer than recommended or sleeping in contact lenses that aren’t designed for 24-hour wear can lead to infection, scarring or even vision loss.

To make sure your eyes remain healthy and to adjust your prescription if your vision changes, all contact lens prescriptions have an expiration date. We evaluate your eyes annually (or sooner if there are complications) to increase your chances of clear, comfortable and healthy vision for years to come.
